changing lives with science: the sonares story

From the idea of making science accessible to everyone to the launch of the sonares ScienceHub. Here's how it really happened!

The story of the

ScienceFacts

2017: Dr. Hannes Guhl develops the first interdependent calculation model

sonares began with a vision: to make science a personal experience for everyone. The first milestone was a uniquely accurate calculation model that estimates personal life expectancy using 16 factors, some of which influence each other.

2019: sonares CYL app celebrates its world premiere at the Long Night of the Sciences

As a guest of Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, sonares presented the ChangeYourLifeApp to the public for the first time in 2019. This scientific application allows users to calculate their personal life expectancy based on 41 international studies. The development period took a total of four years.

2020: Sonar's lifetime calculator reaches the first million users & Google's #1

Due to the continued high level of interest in topics such as life expectancy and self-optimization, the app reached one million users in 2020. The integration of the app on the websites of partner organizations means that it now appears - completely ad-free - at the top of search engine results for various search terms, and continues to do so to this day.

2021: sonares launches the ScienceCommunity & the ScienceLab

More and more scientists, companies, and media outlets are interested in integrating scientific content into their websites. sonares founds the ScienceCommunity and begins developing additional calculation models with its own scientific team, the sonares ScienceLab. The highlight: scientific partners gain access to statistical evaluations of user input for "their" studies - for even more insights.

2023: sonares launches the new Test operation of the first 19 ScienceFacts

Integrating a ScienceFact on a website is easy. Running hundreds of ScienceFacts on thousands of websites on the other hand is a logistical and technical challenge. Our partner Ippen Media helped us to overcome this challenge! During a test run lasting more than a year, the ScienceFacts were tested with more than 250,000 users, measured, optimized and prepared for operation. The results convinced everyone!

2024: sonares launches Sonny AI beta, the scientific guide in ScienceFacts

Sonny, sonares' artificial intelligence, helps the user to better understand the result. To do this, Sonny evaluates the inputs as well as the effects and explains in simple terms how they came about. Sonny also shows what changes could be made to improve the result. AI cannot replace a human expert, but it can provide useful impulses for optimizing one's own behaviour.

2025: sonares launches the ScienceHub with over 100 ScienceFacts

Bam! The ScienceHub is launched. With many new ScienceFacts, the sonares team makes a wide range of topics personally accessible to everyone. These include the right choice of training and career, Vitamin deficiency, Risk of heart attack, real estate value, accident risks, CO2 emissions and much, much more. All ScienceFacts can be integrated into your own website via the ScienceHub.
